About Cloud Evolution
An Auckland practice built for organisations that are growing faster than their ways of working can absorb.
Why we exist
Growing organisations in New Zealand often hit a familiar wall: revenue and headcount climb, but the habits that worked at forty people start fraying at one hundred and fifty. Announcements land poorly. Middle managers invent local workarounds. Sponsors burn evenings rewriting the same slide. Cloud Evolution was founded to sit in that gap — not as another strategy deck factory, but as change management consulting that stays present through the messy middle.
How we started
The practice began in Auckland after years of watching well-intentioned restructures lose people in the first sixty days. Our founders had led transitions inside logistics, professional services, and regional retail firms — places where the work is physical and relational, not abstract. That experience shapes how we brief sponsors, how we listen on the floor, and how we refuse to treat culture as a poster campaign.
Working approach
We prefer fewer concurrent clients so principals stay close to the work. Engagements begin with what is already decided, not with a blank workshop wall. We write in plain English. We push for named owners. We will tell you when a full programme is unnecessary, and when a readiness assessment would save you from announcing too early.
Values we hold to
- Honesty over momentum — if readiness is low, we say so before the all-hands date.
- Respect for local knowledge — frontline managers often know the real constraints; we design with them, not around them.
- Proportion — not every change needs a twenty-week programme; we match effort to stakes.
- Presence in Aotearoa — we understand NZ employment norms, regional distance, and the difference between Auckland head office and a South Island depot.
